We run a fishery in Nagashima Town, which is located at the northernmost tip of Kagoshima Prefecture.
In the summer, Iwagaki oysters have plump flesh, and in the winter, sweet oysters are cultivated.
Nishikimorimaru Suisan is particular about breeding and management.
Oysters and mussels are raised from small juveniles (children of shellfish), but it is important to adjust the number of individuals in the farming cage as they grow and become larger. Careful adjustments create the environment for the shellfish to grow, producing oysters and blackberry mussels that are full of flesh.
Morooka Island in Nagashima Town is home to a large amount of plankton, which collects nutrients flowing from mountains made of red soil. The sea area is very suitable for culturing oysters and mussels.
